Philip Simpson’s concept for this war museum was to contrast the scale of brutalism of the objects by presenting information in a sophisticated and flexible grid of subtle colour which reflects the dimensions of the showcases. This approach means that the grid works horizontally as well as vertically, allowing for images at any scale across the totality of the war museum.
